OUR PEOPLE ARE AWARD WINNING Sean Callaghan, Sodexo Canada’s general manager of food service operations at Loblaw Companies Ltd., has won a Champion’s League Award for leadership in breaking down barriers to employment for people who have a physical or mental disability. 26 The award, given annually by the Ontario Disability Employment Network (ODEN), honours business leaders who understand the productivity and moral benefits of hiring individuals who have a disability and take direct action to advance inclusion in their workplace. Sean received the prestigious award and was inducted into ODEN’s Champions League on June 2nd at the organization’s annual conference in Toronto. Sean has been a strong advocate for the business value of employing people who have a disability. People with a disability comprise 20 per cent of his workforce. He has also been instrumental in placing about 20 more job candidates at other Sodexo locations in the greater Toronto area. CHAMPION’S LEAGUE AWARD: SEAN CALLAGHAN ABLEWORKS INCLUSIVE EMPLOYER AWARD: SODEXO TEAM AT COLUMBIA INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE CAMPUS The Sodexo team led by Jeffrey Frederick at Columbia International College (CIC) was recognized as an Inclusive Employer for the work they have done with Ableworks over the past year as part of the ADEPT program (All Employees with Disabilities Possess Talent). The Sodexo team at CIC has had tremendous success with Sandra Gaspar, an employee with a disability who was recruited through Ableworks and has become one of their star performers. She is an inspiration to her co-workers and has already been nominated in our national employee recognition program. COMMUNITIES
